Back in 2009, I updated the StepMania System Zero page for the first time in a long time. After that, not much activity.
Fast-forward to late 2013 (beginning of November)... With the revival of sm-ssc, as well as its new focus on what the SSC wants, I figured I could start theming again.
I still troll YouTube for videos, and a number of people are still using the old CVS version of StepMania 4... (and therefore using a version of System Zero.) Much like in 2009, I was surprised by the fact it's still being used (in some form).
I still kind of credit myself with the destruction of StepMania through various things (System Zero, syszero becoming the default theme, coming up with sm-ssc and turning it into StepMania 5...), but the difference between then and now is that I really don't care what other people are thinking. They're not me, and they never will be.
As mentioned in the 2009 update, there were a few attempts to revive System Zero; none of them got off the ground. I also said "I have no intention on porting the theme to the StepMania 4 alphas, nor sm-ssc." This statement still holds true, since I'm not porting it to StepMania 4 alpha versions... As for sm-ssc, try assuming I meant the sm-ssc v1.x series (which ended at v1.2.5) and see what happens...
Will things be any different in 2014? Time will tell... Watch this space.
